Azeri president approves poverty reduction plan
BAKU – President Ilham Aliyev has approved a plan of activities to implement the state program on poverty reduction and sustainable growth in Azerbaijan for 2008-2015, AzerTAj state news agency reported.
The five-year Action Plan covers all sectors of the economy, including financial markets, budgetary, taxation and investment policies, as well as the development of industries, agriculture and tourism.
The plan also outlines the government’s policies on employment, social security, educational and health reforms, environmental protection, culture, gender equality, and policies on youths and children.
The government also mapped out measures concerning public service, judiciary and legal reforms, policies on local bodies and NGOs.
