Azeri central banker predicts single-digit inflation in 2010
Single-digit inflation is expected in Azerbaijan by the end of
2010, Elman Rustamov, chairman of the Central Bank steering board,
told journalists.
According to him, the inflation rate was 1.8 percent in
January.
"The price rise is observed due to a growing demand ahead of the
holidays, but in summer the inflation rate will start to decline,"
he said. "Today, inflation does not exceed the level we
expected."*
