Azeri bank enables remote air ticket purchases
The International Bank of Azerbaijan began providing
a new type of services on September 1, as part of its electronic
banking development strategy, allowing IBA clients to conveniently
buy air tickets.
The service, which is unmatched in the domestic market, enables customers to remotely pay for tickets using all means available, including computers, automatic teller machines and cellular phones.
"Thus, IBA and SilkWay Travel company customers have the option to obtain tickets electronically, without calling a travel agency or leaving their home or office," the IBA said.
IBA, the biggest credit institution in Azerbaijan and the entire region, was established in 1992. 50.2 percent of the bank’s capital stock is state-owned, another 10 percent is owned by its staff and the rest is property of special type.*
