Only 10% of JSCs profitable for shareholders
150-200 joint-stock companies operating in Azerbaijan yield
dividends to their shareholders, the State Securities Committee
chairman Gunduz Mammadov said.
He told a news conference on the outcomes of 2007 on Tuesday that
this was a good indicator compared to previous years but it should
still be higher given that there are as many as 1,600 JSCs in the
country.
Mammadov went on to say that the number of complaints filed by the
stakeholders to the committee last year decreased from 420 in 2006
to 304 in 2007. He added that some of the complaints had been
dismissed as baseless during their consideration.
