Junior athletes have attracted gymnastics fans to the National Gymnastics Arena on the eve of the New Year, as the first Azerbaijan Championship among Age Categories in Aerobic Gymnastic was held.

More than 30 gymnasts representing "Ojag Sport" Club showed their performance in all 6 gymnastics disciplines in Baku on December 11.

In the beginners competition among women Ayan Aliyeva took the first place, followed by Maryam Topchubashova and Azerin Mammadova.

The competition in mixed pairs finished with the victory of duo Ayan Aliyeva and Timur Khamidulin. Rajab Rustamov and Zahra Salmanli took second, while Leyla Alizade and Ali Tanriverdiyev placed third.

In individual men’s competition among beginners Timur Khamidulin left behind all his rivals, while Rajab Rustamov and Sayyad Mehdiyev took second and third places, respectively.

In trios among beginners Tagiyeva N, Rasulov K, and Jafarova S. won gold medal. Trio of Mammadova A., Kazimova S., Aliyeva A. claimed silver. Bronze went to trio of Tobchubashova M, Dadashova A, and Jafarli A.

In individual competition among children aged 9-11, Khadija Guliyeva won gold, Farida Agayeva silver and Leyla Bejanova bronze medal.

In children trios Agayeva Farida, Guliyeva Khadija, and Bejanova Leyla secured gold medal. Abdullazade L., Mammadova S. and Gurbanova D. took silver. Trio of Kaisi M., Mugalova A. and Alimuradova E. placed third.

Individual Women’s competition among pre-juniors aged between 12 and 14 ended with the victory of Amina Zamanova, while Malak Karimova took second place.
