Azerbaijani woman boxer wins gold medal in Poland

Azerbaijani boxer Anna Alimardanova has gained a gold medal in the Women`s Championships in Gliwice, Poland.
Fighting at the 54kg category, Anna faced Czech Lenka Kardova in
the final. Defeating her rival 3:0 Anna became the winner in the
category.
In addition to her prize, Anna was also awarded with the prize of
the best technical boxer of the tournament.
Another Azerbaijani boxer Yana Alekseyeva gained tournament's bronze medal, losing in the semi-final.
The tournament brought together 90 boxers from Germany, Ukraine, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Finland and France.
Meanwhile, Azerbaijani men and women sportsmen are taking part in the 29th International Boxing Tournament Ahmet Generous, held in Istanbul, Turkey on September 8-11.
Apart from Azerbaijan, a total of 200 boxers from 13 country, namely Turkey, Kazakhstan, Russia, Bolivia, Bulgaria, the UK, Sweden, France, Italy, Norway, Holland and Hungry are participating in the tournament. A distinctive feature of this tournament from previous years, competing of women's teams for the first time in the event.
Azerbaijan's team includes five men and nine women. The main coach of the national team is Shamil Mahammadbeyov, who invited the following women sportsmen to the national team: Aziza Abbasova (48kg), Anakhanim Agayeva (51kg), Nisa Mekhtiyeva (54kg), Mehseti Hamzayev (57kg), Maryam Jabrailova (64kg), Elena Vistropova (69kg), Leila Hasanova and Leila Javadova (75kg) and Aynur Rzayeva (81kg).
The men's team consists of Araz Imamaliyev (49kg), Kanan
Huseynaliyev (56kg), Parviz Huseynov (69kg), Eldar Guliyev (75kg)
and Heydar Heydarov (91kg).
Both Azerbaijani women's boxers Aynur Rzayeva at 81kg and Elena
Vistropova at 69kg brought the bronze medals to the country.
