Azerbaijan wins silver at London Olympics
Azerbaijan won the second medal at the London Olympics. It was possible thanks to wrestler Rovshan Bayramov's success, who only yield to Iranian rival in the final match.
In the 55-kg category Bayramov first met with Russian representative Mingiyan Semenov.
Bayramov won both rounds of the fight, and thus reached the next stage of the competition.
Rival of Azerbaijani wrestler in the next stage, in the 1/8 finals was U.S. representative, Thomas Spenser Mango. In the first round Bayramov scored 4 points - 4:0. He finished the second round with the same score. Thus, the Azerbaijani wrestler passed to 1/4 finals at the Olympics.
In the quarterfinals Bayramov met with Chinese rival Li Shujin.
Azerbaijani wrestler won both rounds of the fight, and thus reached the semifinals.
In the semi-finals Bayramov met with South Korean wrestler Choi Gyu-Jin. Defeating the opponent, he reached the finals.
