Turkmen OKs bill on religious freedom
TheTurkmen parliament during its regular meeting adopted the law “On freedom of religion and religious organizations”, the Turkmen government reported on March 31.
This law is based on the fact that Turkmenistan, being a democratic, legal and secular state, guarantees freedom of religion and belief.
Turkmenistan ensures equal rights to every person, regardless of his (her) religious beliefs, the message said.
A nationwide discussion of the draft of new edition of the Turkmen Constitution is being held in the country at this stage.
