The 7th Astana Economic Forum kicked off in Kazakhstan on May 21.

The discussions will cover issues related to financial and economic stability, development of trade and increasing the competitiveness, as well as investments, innovations, infrastructure, social and cultural aspects of the economic growth.

Around 10,000 delegates from 150 countries will take part at the7th Astana Economic Forum and the World Anti-Crisis Conference (WAC). Representatives of government bodies from 143 member states of the UN are among them. Afghanistan's Vice-President Mohammad Karim Khalili, four deputy Prime ministers - Rasim Lyaich (Serbia) Paulo Portas (Portugal), Hussein al-Shahristani (Iraq) and George Kvirikashvili (Georgia) will take part at these events.

Moreover, the events will be attended by around 131 ministers, chairmen of central banks and their deputies, ambassadors, as well as Deputy Secretary General of the UN, Gyan Chandra Acharya, President of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Martin Sajdik, Secretary General of UNCTAD, Mukhisa Kituyi, Deputy Director General of the WTO, David Shark, Vice President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Thierry de Longumar and heads of a range of international and financial organizations.

The Astana Economic Forum is one of the largest international forums in the world. Since 2008, the forum brings together global leaders, experts and representatives of business communities to find solutions to combat the major economic and social challenges of our time.
