Inghushetia `may seek pullout` from Russia

Inghushetia `may seek pullout` from Russia
Seceding from the Russian Federation by the republic of Inghushetia may soon be discussed, an Inghushetian opposition representative said.
Magomed Khazbiyev did not rule out that an appeal would be forwarded to the world community regarding Inghushetia`s withdrawing from Russia if its demands are not met.
Khazbiyev, who heads the Organizing Committee of Inghushetia`s Nationwide Protest Rally, said the republic would request Europe and the United States to assist in their leaving the federation.
"If this country does not need us, we know what we will do next."
The Inghushetian opposition`s statement comes after the murder of Magomed Yevloyev, the owner of the outlawed opposition-leaning Inghushetia.ru website.
Inghushetia`s law-enforcement agencies have said that Yevloyev was killed while resisting the police on Sunday. The founder of the website and vocal critic of the Kremlin`s policies in the Caucasus died from a bullet wound to the head while in police custody, Russian Interfax news agency reported quoting prosecutors.
Meanwhile, the Caucasus Times` online publication said that prior to Yevloyev`s death, Inghushetia`s unofficial people`s parliament had adopted an appeal on the republic`s cessation from Russia.
On Saturday, the appeal was uploaded onto Inghushetia.ru, but the following day the website was apparently attacked, causing it to crash, according to the report.
