YEREVAN - Armenia’s central bank has raised its forecast for the country’s economic growth in 2010.
The bank said the Armenian economy is expected to grow 5.7-6.2 percent this year, up from the 3-4 pct projection issued in May.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) predicts the figure at 5 pct.
As for inflation, Armenia’s statistics committee predicted the figure at 7.3 pct in the first half of 2010, though previously the government expected inflation at around 2.5 to 5.5 pct. Currently, the Armenian government aims at wrapping up the year with 6 pct inflation.
