Turkey using domestic weapons in Operation Olive Branch

The Turkish Armed Forces use missiles, helicopters and other types of domestic weapons produced in Turkey during the Operation Olive Branch, the Turkish media outlets reported Jan. 24 citing military sources.

Reportedly, laser guided CIRIT missiles of Turkish production, which are installed on domestic helicopters – ATAK, are actively used in order to destroy the targets and positions of groups of YPG and PYD terrorist organizations in Syria’s Afrin.

On Jan. 20, the Turkish Armed Forces, together with the Free Syrian Army, launched a military Operation Olive Branch in Afrin.

F-16 fighter planes of the Turkish Air Force, which are inflicting air strikes on the positions of PYD on the Syrian-Turkish border, are involved in the operation.
