TPAO plans to produce oil, gas in six African countries
The Turkish State Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) intends to
conduct exploration and development of oil and gas fields in six
African countries, Sabah newspaper reported on Monday.
According to the report, TPAO is in talks with Sudan, Somalia,
Tanzania, Niger, Senegal and Cameroon on the exploration and
development of hydrocarbons in the countries.
TPAO is also considering cooperation with major oil companies to
work in Africa. Once the company reaches an agreement with African
countries, the tender will be announced for the creation of a
consortium for development of fields.
TPAO previously agreed with the Libyan authorities on exploration
and development of oil fields in the country. The parties signed a
contract worth $150 million.
