Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev started his visit to the country's Agdash region on May 1.

President Aliyev first visited the statue of National Leader Heydar Aliyev in the center of Agdash and laid flowers on it.

Head of the Agdash Region Executive Authority Tofig Ibrahimov informed the Head of State of the landscaping work carried out around the statue, noting that two fountains had been set up in the park.

The area around the statue has been laid with marble, and many trees have been planted.

As part of the visit, President Aliyev attended the opening of the Heydar Aliyev Center in Agdash, and cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the Center.

Important activities are underway to preserve the memory of Heydar Aliyev in Azerbaijan, and significant projects are being implemented to mark the 91st birthday anniversary of the world famous politician.

The Heydar Aliyev centers set up in Baku and Azerbaijan's regions play an important role in studying the political heritage of the great politician.

One such center has been built in Agdash. The Center's establishment is an evidence of the respect that the people of Agdash have for the memory of the internationally renowned statesman.

The Center is also expected to play a major role in studying and promoting the rich and diverse legacy of the great leader.

The photos and exhibits displayed at the Center demonstrate Heydar Aliyev's contribution to Azerbaijan's transformation from a country faced with a deep economic recession into a state undergoing comprehensive development.

President Aliyev was informed that the Center's construction commenced in August 2012, and was carried out in accordance with the highest standards.

The two-storey building covers an area of 5,800 square meters, and a model of the office building is on display at the Center's entrance.

There is a bust of Heydar Aliyev on the first floor. Documents related to the great leader's life and activities are of particular interest, and his photos have been arranged in six sections.

The photos document the attention he paid to the development of Agdash both during his leadership of Azerbaijan in the Soviet period and also during the country's independence.

The great leader's participation in various facilities and numerous meetings with intellectuals, and veteran workers are deeply embedded in people's memories.

The Center has a course on foreign languages, a photo and video studio, an information technology center, a club of folk musical instruments, a dance studio, an internet club, a café, a 3D cinema, etc.

The Center, which also has photo stands depicting President Aliyev's visits to Agdash during the years, has the capacity to conduct high-level public and political activities and functions.

The Center's small and large conference rooms are intended for public, political, and cultural activities, including lessons on promoting Heydar Aliyev's rich heritage.

Interesting paintings are displayed in the open exhibition hall, and there are also painting and sculpture studio, a craftsmanship workshop, design and computer courses, and an electronic library. Different games will be available at the intellectual games room.

Considering the fact that marriage ceremonies have been held at Heydar Aliyev centers throughout the republic in recent years, a civil registry office has been set up at the Agdash Heydar Aliyev Center.

After visiting the Center, President Aliyev met with the representatives of the local public.

Speaking on behalf of the region's public, Shahla Hajibalayeva thanked the President for paying attention to the development of Agdash.

A picture was taken afterwards.
