Azerbaijan's Permanent Mission to the United Nations participated in the U.N. Annual Bazaar in Geneva on November 19.

The Annual Bazaar, organized by the U.N. under the motto "United for Children", brought together U.N. missions permanent representatives, Director General of the United Nations Office in Geneva Michael Moller, diplomats, Swiss residents, representatives of different international organizations in Geneva, and others.

Items representing Azerbaijan's national culture, material and cultural heritage, and art and traditions were exhibited, and books, journals and maps related to tourism, culture, and art were handed out to the participants of the Annual Bazaar.

Information on the education programs of Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy (ADA) was also presented to the event participants at Azerbaijan's exhibition stand, which aroused great interest in the guests.

At the end of the event, Azerbaijani government's financial contribution was given to the relevant charity fund of the United Nations. These funds will be spent for the implementation of various projects in favor of disadvantageous children in different parts of the world, and a considerable part of the financial aid will be spent for helping children affected by the Hayan typhoon in Philippines.

The objective of the Annual Bazaar which is traditionally hosted every year at the United Nations Office in Geneva is to promote the art, culture, cuisine, and customs of different countries, and make contributions to the charity foundation established in order to help children living in different parts of the world.

Each year the funds in the amount of approximately 300,000 Swiss francs raised at the Annual Bazaar are spent on helping about 100,000 children around the world.

The next U.N. Annual Bazaar will be held in November 2014.
