Congressman appraises US- Azerbaijan ties

The bilateral relations between the U.S. and Azerbaijan was in focus , as Ohio Congressman Michael Turner visited the Azerbaijani Center of Houston, AzerTag state news agency reported.
The Congressman met members of the Azerbaijani community.
Praising the activity of the Houston-Baku Sister City Association, the Congressman highlighted its role in expansion of the ties between the two countries, as well as the two oil cities.
Mr Turner emphasized the role of the U.S. Azeris Network (USAN) and members of the Azerbaijani community in developing the U.S.-Azerbaijan relationship.
Congressman Turner of 2012 was elected to represent the newly created 10th Congressional District, which includes all of Montgomery County, Greene County, and portions of Fayette County. For the 113th Congress, Turner has been appointed Chairman of the House Armed Services Tactical Air and Land Forces Subcommittee, which conducts oversight of ammunition programs, Army and Air Force acquisition programs, all Navy and Marine Corps aviation programs, National Guard and Army and Air Force National Guard and Reserve.
