More foreigners visit Azerbaijan this year
The number of foreigners, who visited Azerbaijan in the first half of 2013, increased by 9.9 percent or 108,130 people compared with the same period of 2012 and amounted to 1,196,953 people, Azerbaijan's Ministry of Culture and Tourism reported.
Out of the total number of foreign nationals some 418,012 are citizens of Russia, 400,542 people - Georgia, 173,861 people - Turkey, 70,254 people - Iran, 8,298 people - Europe, and 125,986 people - nationals of other countries.
The number of citizens of the CIS countries, who visited Azerbaijan, increased by 18.7 percent, from the European Union - increased by 22.9 percent, from Asia - by 7.3 percent, from Africa - 37.5, and there was an increase of 19.2 percent in number of visitors from Australia.
