US congressmen send letter to Azerbaijani President

A group of U.S. congressmen, who attended the U.S.-Azerbaijan Convention in Baku, have addressed a letter to President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, AzerTac state news agency reported.

In the letter, the congressmen say: "We were honored to join you and the Azerbaijani people in celebrating your national holiday, the Republic Day, as well as recognizing the strong partnership between our two countries."

"We greatly appreciate your kind words and commitment to maintain and strengthen our strategic relations."

"Azerbaijan continues to be a strong economic partner and a key ally in efforts to combat terrorism and help provide energy security for strategic allies," the letter says.

The congressmen - Michael R. Turner, Gregory Meeks, Ted Poe, Michelle Lujan Grisham, Steve Stockman, Ruben Hinojosa, Jim Bridenstine, Sheila Jackson Lee, Yvette D. Clarke, and Danny K. Davis - also expressed their readiness to continue working together in strengthening U.S.-Azerbaijan relations.
