Azerbaijan-NATO coop in ‘stagnation’ - foreign ministry
Cooperation between Azerbaijan and NATO has stagnated, a senior Azerbaijani official said Thursday.
"A couple of NATO members, by taking a narrow political and biased position, are delaying approval of the third stage of the Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP) for cooperation signed between NATO and Azerbaijan," Deputy Foreign Minister Araz Azimov told reporters.
"The delay has lasted several months so far, and we are concerned over this," he added.
IPAP envisions improvements in the military field, political and economic reforms. IPAP began to be implemented in 2005. The first stage of the Plan was completed by January 2008, while the second stage covered the period until January 2010.
