Azercell-backed student internship draws to a close

BAKU – The internship program for students supported by Azerbaijan’s leading cellular operator Azercell drew to a close Monday.

10 Qafqaz University students who worked at the Barama Innovation Center conducted important research. During two weeks they finalized their economic-analytical study on the topics assigned.

As part of this unique program, the students had to find answers to the questions asked by Azercell by conducting polls and analyzing the results. On the basis of their findings, young talents prepared their recommendations and presented them to the company.

Addressing the presentation ceremony, Agshin Hajiyev, Azercell Telecom’s Strategy and Business Development Manager, said the results of the program will benefit not only the students but also the company.

"The results of the research are very interesting and useful. I do believe that at the end of your studies, the conclusions and recommendations you provided will be taken into consideration in our company’s operation."

At the end of the event, the Qafqaz University students received their diplomas.

Besides conducting research at the Barama office, the students undergo training in the area of business development. The students also gained hands-on knowledge and broad experience by focusing on the issues faced in real-life environment. The researchers were also provided with scholarships.

The internship program was also supported by the US Agency for International Development (USAID).

The Barama project is being implemented on the initiative of Azercell and with its direct participation. Talented youths interested in information and communication technologies have the opportunity to materialize their proposals and ideas.
