Russia’s Daghestan head holds talks in Baku
The president of the Russian republic of Daghestan, Magomedsalam
Magomedov, arrived in Azerbaijan for an official visit on
Monday.
Magomedov has met with Azerbaijani Parliament Speaker Ogtay Asadov.
Asadov said President Ilham Aliyev attaches great importance to developing Azerbaijan’s relations with Daghestan, noting that Magomedov’s visit will open up new opportunities for expanding bilateral ties. According to him, Azerbaijan and Daghestan enjoy high-level political relations, and there is great potential for boosting economic cooperation as well.
The Daghestan leader, in turn, pointed out that Azerbaijan has covered a long road of development.
Magomedov is also expected to be hosted by the Azerbaijani president and prime minister.
In conclusion of his visit, the Russian republic and Azerbaijan are due to sign documents covering trade-economic, scientific-technical and cultural cooperation.*
