Car robbers nabbed in Baku
An armed group that has stolen over $200,000 from vehicles has been
seized in Baku.
According to the Baku City Main Police Department, the group consists of four persons, three of whom have a criminal record.
Law enforcers impounded large quantities of arms and money as well as heroin from the outlaws.
A resident of the Azerbaijani capital filed an application to the police April 7 saying $100,000 and 60,000 manats ($75,000) had been stolen from his Range Rover car after its window was broken.
Investigators established that the criminals had committed another theft on January 21 by stealing 30,000 manats ($24,000) from the trunk of the Mercedes car owned by another Baku resident.*
