PACE to mull appointing new co-rapporteur on Azerbaijan
Appointing a new co-rapporteur of the Parliamentary Assembly of the
Council of Europe (PACE) for Azerbaijan will be discussed at a
meeting of the organization’s Monitoring Committee, to be held
November 17-21, according to the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani
parliament).
One of the two co-rapporteurs, Bulgarian MP Evguenia Jivkova, has lately stepped down from the post. Her counterpart, Andres Herkel, is therefore unable to develop a report assessing the extent of Azerbaijan’s compliance with its Council of Europe obligations.*
