Turkey`s Consulate General in Nakhchivan has hosted a reception on the 94th anniversary of the establishment of the Republic Day of Turkey.

Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Vasif Talibov attended the event, Azertac reported.

The state anthems of Azerbaijan and Turkey were played.

A letter of congratulation sent by the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the diplomatic representative offices on the occasion of the Republic Day was read out.

Vasif Talibov congratulated the event participants and the people of Tukey on the Republic Day. “Azerbaijan-Turkey relations have reached the level of strategic partnership. The fruitful cooperation has been also established between the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan and Turkey. We hail the development of ties in the fields of education, health, culture, trade and economy,” the chairman said.

He noted that under new regulations recently approved by the government of Turkey, Nakhchivan can freely export goods to Turkey. The chairman of the Supreme Assembly of Nakhchivan said that this decision will strengthen the relations even more. He wished the people of Turkey peace and prosperity.

Turkey`s Consul General in Nakhchivan Nihat Ersen spoke of the history of the Republic Day of Turkey and the country`s development. He said that Turkey-Azerbaijan relations were rapidly developing, adding that the two countries also implement joint projects. Nihat Ersen stressed the role of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic in developing ties with fraternal Azerbaijan.
