Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Brazil Elkan Polukho presented his credentials to the country`s President Michel Temer.
They held a brief meeting, and the ambassador extended President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev`s greetings to the Brazilian leader.
They discussed Azerbaijan-Brazil relations and their further expansion, Azertac reported.
The diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on October 23, 1993. In addition to embassies, each country created Brazil-Azerbaijan Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group in 2012 and 2013.
The trade turnover between the countries amounted to $120 million in 2015.
Azerbaijan and Brazil share common commitments to universal values, the rule of international law, the principles of the United Nations, including respect for territorial integrity, sovereignty and inviolability of borders.
