Budapest hosts exhibition of Azerbaijani artists

An exhibition of young Azerbaijani artists was held at Kogart Gallery in the Hungarian capital of Budapest.

The exhibition marking the 91st anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev featured 135 works by 29 painters.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Azerbaijani ambassador Vilayat Guliyev said the exhibition was not only a cultural, but also a charitable event.

"At the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation 25 percent of the funds to be collected from the sale of paintings will go to the Roman Catholic Orphan School after Laszlo Battani for disabled children, which is being built in Budapest, a kindergarten and an elementary school," he said.

The three-day event was attended by artists, representatives of the diplomatic corps, members of the Azerbaijani diaspora in Hungary and Azerbaijani students.

The exhibition has previously traveled to Central Europe, Paris, Brussels, Vienna, and Prague.
