Azerbaijani violinist to perform in Europe

London-based Azerbaijani violinist Sabina Rakcheyeva will give a series of concerts in European countries.

The musician will perform in Brussels on February 11, and give Khojaly commemoration concerts in Paris and London at the end of February.

The Azerbaijani violinist will also hold a concert in York, London, Bristol, and Norwich in the United Kingdom, as well as in Poland.

Member of the European Cultural Parliament, winner of "The Best Violinist of the Year" competition in Baku, first recipient of "Artist in Residence" Award from the Fund of Mutual Understanding in New York, and the recipient of a scholarship from Italian Ministry of Culture, Rakcheyeva is the first Azerbaijani who has been accepted at the prestigious Juilliard School in New York.

She has performed in over 40 countries and been featured on BBC, CNN, and Voice of America Radio, performing for the Presidents of the European Commission, Azerbaijan, Russia, and Romania, the United Nations Secretary-General, and Prince of Liechtenstein.

Sabina began studying violin at the age of six. She also holds Certificates in Performance from Academia Chigiana (Italy) and Fontainebleau School of Fine Arts (France). She has studied with Masao Kawasaki, Franco Gulli, Stephen Clapp, and Mikhail Kugel and has played in master classes for Mstislav Rostropovich, Joseph Silverstein, James Buswell, Gerard Poulet, Mauricio Fuks, Robert Levine, Harvey Shapiro, and Charles Neidich.
