An art evening as part of the "Indi" experimental project that is designed to bring together exhibits of various forms of contemporary art will take place on the Creative Stage of UNS Theatre on May 9 at 7.00 local time.

The "Indi" project by YARAT! Contemporary Art Space, an organization promoting Azerbaijani modern
art worldwide, is becoming international! On this occasion YARAT! offers everyone to be acquainted with the work of young Egyptian artist Salam Yousry through his "Choir" project.

The author has all but a week to create a close-knit team, whose members will have met each other for the first time on May 2.

The unique nature of the project lies in the fact that the "Choir" members can include people of all ages and walks of life, who possess musical instruments, but have never before in their lives tried to give a performance in music or singing.

Whatever you did previously, the "Choir" will teach you to become a team player and to freely express your thoughts and feelings through music and improvisation.

The idea of the "Choir" originated in Cairo and it was then successfully staged in Alexandria, Amman, Beirut, London, Munich, Berlin, Paris and Istanbul. The Baku Evening will be the culmination of a week-long master class that takes place on May 2- 10.

YARAT Contemporary Art Space, founded in 2011 by Aida Mahmudova, is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to nurturing an understanding of contemporary art in Azerbaijan and to creating a platform for Azerbaijani art, both nationally and internationally.

Based in Baku, Yarat! realizes its mission through an ongoing program of exhibitions, education events, and festivals. It facilitates dialogue and exchange between local and international artistic networks, including foundations, galleries and museums.
