Expo dedicated to Baku 2017 opens [PHOTO]

Azerbaijan’s Museum of Independence has opened an exhibition dedicated to the Baku 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games.
More than 36 artists presented their art works on the sports theme to the Museum, Trend Life reported.
In their works, the artists showed the grace of gymnasts, team unity, strength of athletes and their desire to win.
“The 4th Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku is another proves that Azerbaijan is recognized as a sport nation on a global scale. It's very symbolic that the Games will be held in the Year of Islamic Solidarity announced in the country. The Islamic Solidarity Games unites different nations and serves for peace,” said museum's director Farida Shamsi
Previously, the Museum implemented similar projects, dedicated to the "Eurovision-2012" and the first Baku 2015 European Games.
The exhibition will run until May 25.
The Baku 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games, the opening ceremony of which will take place May 12, started May 8 and will last until May 22 in Azerbaijan’s capital.
Athletes from Islamic countries around the world will be representing their nations over 10 days of competition across 20 different sports which include 23 disciplines (Athletics and Para Athletics, Aquatics – Diving, Aquatics – Swimming, Aquatics – Water Polo, Basketball 3x3, Football, Gymnastics – Artistic, Gymnastics – Rhythmic, Wushu, Table Tennis, Handball, Judo and Blind Judo, Wrestling – Greco, Wrestling – Freestyle, Shooting, Tennis, Volleyball, Boxing, Zurkhaneh, Karate, Taekwondo and Weightlifting) in 16 modern competition venues in Baku.
Azerbaijan’s capital city Baku was awarded the Games at the General Assembly of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation (ISSF) in Jeddah in July 2013.
