Baku to host exhibition of Russian artist [PHOTO]

An exhibition of works of Russian artist Olya Kroytor will open at Artwin Gallery Kicik QalArt in Baku on October 31.

The exhibition will feature works inspired by artist's experience and emotions, Azertac reported.

The main themes in her creativity are self-destruction, death and detachment.

This is not the first exhibition of the artist in Azerbaijan.

Kroytor's exhibition remained open in Baku for three months last year.

Russian contemporary artist is famous for her unique paintings, collages, installations and sculptures. She is particularly renowned for her performance pieces, receiving the Kandinsky Prize in 2015 in the category of 'Young artist: Project of the Year'.

Born in 1986 in Moscow, she studied at Moscow State Pedagogical University in the Graphic Art Department. Later she participated in Moscow Museum of Modern Art's programme "Free Workshops" and studied at the Institute of Contemporary Art.

Olya Kroytor has shown her work in many different exhibitions, including solo shows "Unnecessary", "Dissociative identity disorder", "Split personality", "Composition No1" etc.

Her solo exhibition «Olya Kroytor. 8 Situations» inaugurated the opening of Artwin Gallery's space on Tverskoy Boulevard.
