The traditional clothes of Azerbaijan’s Karabakh region was successfully presented at the International Fashion Exhibition in Kibray, Uzbekistan, Trend Life reported.

The event was timed to the 25th anniversary of Uzbekistan's independence.

The fashion collection by Fashion House of Zarqaynar in Tashkent, was presented with the assistance of the Azerbaijani cultural center named after Heydar Aliyev, operating under the Azerbaijani Embassy in Uzbekistan.

The stunning collection includes several traditional men's and women's clothes, made in the tradition of the 17th -19th centuries - wedding and evening dresses.

The show kicked off under the rhythms of popular national song "Sari Gelin" and was greeted with applause.

Guests were also informed about the traditions and customs of the Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan and enjoyed national sweets.

The event was attended by prominent public figures, representatives of culture and art of Uzbekistan, diplomatic missions etc.

Speakers emphasized that a great variety and beauty of the national dresses of Karabakh proved again the wealth of history and culture of Azerbaijan.

National costumes of Azerbaijanis are unique for their pretty look. Some twelve stages can be identified in the formation of national costume. Each stage saw further development and improvement, corresponding to changing tastes and living conditions.

The women dresses have elegant silhouettes and are cut to emphasizing flexible waist of Azerbaijani beauties. They are decorated with intricate embroidery and beautiful golden band.

Azerbaijani men's clothing is also very distinct. They emphasize the masculinity without restricting a man’s rapid movements.
