Major Azeri holding expands ops
Azerbaijani ZQAN Holding intends to enter the domestic food industry market soon, its chairman, Vagif Hasanov, told reporters.
Hasanov said that in the near future the foundations of a poultry factory, located in Azerbaijan's Ujar region, will be laid, which will run the entire production cycle, including foodstuff production, egg incubation, chick rearing and slaughter, packing and sale of the finished product.
"The factory will have the most modern slaughterhouse in the country which will meet all the standards, including that of halal [food]," Hasanov said.
He said ZQAN Holding is working on the opening of other subsidiaries operating in the food industry.
ZQAN Holding is involved in such fields of the economy as construction materials, banking, insurance, telecommunications, hotels and leisure centers, civil engineering, real estate and property management.
