Baku hosts trainings for volunteers, who will join the 42nd World Chess Olympiad to be held in Baku this September.
During the trainings, young participants are provided with detailed information about the prestigious competition.
More than 400 volunteers will participate in the opening and closing ceremonies of the Chess Olympiad, as well as in the competition hall.
The opening and closing ceremonies of the 42nd World Chess Olympiad will be held at the National Gymnastics Arena. The opening ceremony will start at 19:00 on September1.
The first World Chess Olympiad in Azerbaijan will be arranged at the Baku Crystal Hall, a multipurpose sports and concert arena. On the day of the Olympic Games, the Congress of the World Chess Federation (FIDE) will also be held in Baku.
The chess tournament will host about 2,000 chess masters from 175 countries. The number of guests is expected to reach up to 3,000.
