Baku Chess Olympiad :National team captains named

The first teams are currently undergoing the final stage of preparations in Gabala.
The names of captains of the Azerbaijan men’s and women’s teams that will participate in the 42nd World Chess Olympiad have been revealed.
Men’s first team will be captained by Aleksey Dreev.
Three-time Olympic champion with the Russian team (1992, 1994 and 1996), Dreev also became world champion among teams in 1997 and 2005.
Native of Baku Israeli grandmaster Emil Sutovsky and Azer Mirzoyev will be the captains of men’s second and third teams respectively.
Women’s first team will be captained by Fikret Sideifzade, while Sarkhan Guliyev and Rasul Ibrahimov will coach the second and third teams respectively.
With 2,000 chess masters from 180 counties, FIDE’s biennial chess tournament, will gather teams from all over the world to compete for the best title.
The opening ceremony of the Olympiad will be held in the National Gymnastics Arena, while charming Crystal Hall, once hosting Eurovision Song Contest in 2012, will host the games.
