Travel agencies in Azerbaijan will gain the right soon to issue electronic visas.

The agencies will have the right to issue electronic visas to foreigners and stateless persons who wish to visit Azerbaijan as tourists. This was noted in an amendment to the law on tourism. The bill will be officially presented during the plenary session of the Parliament.

Azerbaijan's law presupposes that tourist visa can be issued up to 30 days.

Documents required for getting Azerbaijan's visa are as follows: 1 application form, 2 color photos (3x4 cm on a white background), passport or ID document, an invitation, tourist voucher, or other information confirming the purpose of visit, and a receipt confirming the payment of the state duty.

They only need to send a request to the travel agency accredited in Azerbaijan or in a local travel company that is a partner of Azerbaijan to apply for a visa.

Azerbaijan's Migration Code regulates the rules for issuing e-visas for tourist.

Since September, Azerbaijan and the European Union simplified visa regime between the sides. The agreements make it easier and cheaper for all Azerbaijanis and citizens of the EU, especially for those who travel a lot, to acquire short-stay visas.

A short-stay visa is a visa for an intended stay of no more than 90 days per period of 180 days. Under the agreement, visa fees will be reduced two-fold from 60 euro to 35 euro. Moreover, some categories of citizens will be exempt from the fees.

Today Azerbaijan with its natural beauties, history, art, and international events, has turned into a tourist destination and any chance to facilitate visa gaining will only increase the tourist flow.
