Azerbaijani tourists travel to Russia more often

Azerbaijani citizens, and also citizens from the Asian countries began to visit Russia more often. Analytical agency TurStat presented the rating of countries for inbound tourism in Russia in 2018.
When analyzing the statistics of inbound tourism in Russia for January-September, 2018, it became obvious that 665,000 tours were made from Azerbaijan, which is 1.5 percent higher than in the same period of 2017.
China and South Korea took the first two places in the rating of the travel agency.
In general, inbound tourism to Russia in 2018 increased due to tourists from Asia and America - thanks to cruises and the 2018 World Cup.
In turn, Russians are in the first place among those who arrived in Azerbaijan in January-October 2018 (752,000 tourists). The number of Russian tourists increased by 3.3 percent compared to the same period of 2017. Russians made up 31 percent of all foreign citizens who visited Azerbaijan.
The most popular destination for Russian tourists is Turkey (4,907 trips).
At present, Azerbaijani citizens have the visa free or simplified procedures of visa issuance with more than 80 countries.
Citizens of Azerbaijan can visit 63 countries in a visa-free regime, according to the updated rating of “Index of Passports 2018” prepared by Henley & Partners.
Azerbaijan ranked 72nd for this indicator. In 2016 and 2017, the country’s citizens could visit 62 countries without a visa, and in 2015 - 58 countries.
