More Russian airlines will fly to Azerbaijan, as three airline companies of the neighboring country have received permission to launch flights to the Land of Fire.

In accordance with the protocol of the interdepartmental commission for the admission of carriers to international transportation, Pegas Fly, Saratov Airlines and Taimyr Air Company will be able to carry out flights to Azerbaijan.

The Pegas Fly airline was granted admission for regular passenger flights from the new Zhukovsky International Airport in Moscow to Azerbaijan’s Ganja city seven times a week, the protocol noted.

The Saratov Airlines received permission to carry out Saratov-Baku and Ufa-Baku flights twice a week.

The Taimyr Air Company OJSC, operating as NordStar, also received permission to carry out Yekaterinburg-Baku flight once a week.

Currently, Russian airlines such as Aeroflot, NordStar, Ural Airlines, UTair, IrAero and S7 Airlines are implementing flight to Azerbaijan.

Baku is among the most visited CIS cities among Russian tourists.

Azerbaijan offers numerous must-see spots, one of which is the Shahdag Winter-Summer Tourism Complex. It was recently claimed to enter the Top 3 popular resort for mountain hiking among Russia and CIS countries, according to the tourist portal TurStat.

Over the past year, Azerbaijan received over 2 million tourists, 685,000 of whom were guests from Russia. Taking into account all mentioned above, this figure is expected to rise by the end of 2016.
