FIG Trampoline Gymnastics World Cup in Baku – key tournament before European Championships

The FIG World Cup in Trampoline Gymnastics in Baku is a key tournament on the eve of the upcoming European Championships in Trampoline, Double Mini-Trampoline and Tumbling, said Nikolai Makarov, head of the Russian delegation at the FIG World Cup in Trampoline Gymnastics.

“The FIG World Cup in Trampoline Gymnastics has been organized perfectly,” Makarov, who is also the first vice president of the FIG Trampoline Technical Committee, told Trend March 4.

“Everything has been taken into account and everything is well thought-out, including training and competition halls. Conditions for athletes, accommodation and transportation have all been organized perfectly,” he said.

Makarov also shared expectations for the FIG World Cup in Trampoline Gymnastics in Baku.

“This is the first competition in 2016,” he said. “Of course, not everybody is ready. But the European Championship in Trampoline, Double Mini-Trampoline and Tumbling will start less than in a month.”

“From this point of view, the FIG World Cup in Trampoline Gymnastics in Baku is a key tournament on the eve of the European Championships,” he said. “This is also an important test of our strength. We will be able to assess our training.”

The FIG World Cup in Trampoline Gymnastics will be held at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku March 5-6.

Overall, 77 gymnasts (46 men and 31 women), representing 17 countries, will participate in the tournament.
