Synergy Baku Cycling Project is sending a team of sprinters to the UCI 2.2 Circuit des Ardennes race in France on April 11-13.

Synergy's Maksym Averin, who took the team's first win at the Porec Trophy last month, will compete for another sprint win, joined by fellow Ukrainian Aleksandr Surutkovych and German sprinters Daniel Klemme and Michael Schweizer, with Australians Luke Davison and Pat Lane rounding out the squad.

"We will have a very fast team there, most of our riders are sprinters," Sport Director Arvis Piziks said. "Our main goal in this race is for one of our sprinters to win a stage."

Piziks said all days of the race will be hard. "There are many small hills with some cross winds and I expect very aggressive race from all the teams because everyone will try to be in break groups."

Synergy Baku is Azerbaijan's first professional cycling team which has shown good results in many road races.

Currently, the team's members also compete at the Mzansi Tour in South Africa.
