2016 will surely be remembered as the year of inspiring victories of the Azerbaijani sportsmen, as they demonstrated excellent results at the international tournaments.
Most recently, national MMA fighter Alim Nabiyev (77kg) has become the European champion in France.
Famous for his bright fighting style, Nabiyev won W5 European championship belt in the category up to 73 kg.
The fighter defeated his French opponent Yohan Lidon, well-known for his aggressive fighting style and knockout power.
The Azerbaijani MMA fighter claimed victory after five rounds.
