Turkey tightens security measures on eve of New Year

Turkish police have tightened the security measures due to the growing threat of terrorist attacks during the New Year celebrations, Turkish media reported.
Five suicide bombers of the IS terrorist group (ISIL, ISIS or Daesh) moved from Libya to Italy wherefrom infiltrated into Turkey to commit terrorist attacks, the Milliyet newspaper said citing Turkey’s intelligence service.
The country’s law enforcement bodies suspect that the suicide bombers are currently hiding in the Sanliurfa province on the border with Syria, as well as in the Mersin resort province.
Recently, Turkish police have put another would-be suicide bomber, Turkish citizen Mahimr Ulash on the wanted list.
Ulash has recently attempted to travel to Syria with his family to join the militants of the IS. His family members were blown up on a mine at the border crossing.
Earlier, the Turkish National Intelligence Organization warned about the possibility of repeated terrorist attacks in the country. The organization said that another 20 suicide bombers are preparing to commit terrorist attacks in various cities of Turkey.
