Georgia is considering its joining the fight against the ISIS terrorism, the country's defense ministry reported on September 23.

"Georgia, as the strategic partner of the U.S. and the most compatible country with NATO, is viewing the options on how to take part in the coalition against ISIS terrorism," the ministry said.

Georgia is considering various ways of neutralizing the terrorism, which poses threat to the world and democratic progress, jointly with its international partners and coalition members.

"None of the reviewed options with the partners doesn't include the issue of sending Georgian troops to the battlefields. The final decision will be made at a high political level," the ministry noted.

The Council for State Security and Management of Crisis under the Prime Minister of Georgia has lately announced the terms of the country's joining the anti-ISIS coalition. "Georgia will mostly join with a humanitarian mission the plan for international fight against the IS," the council said.

The recent media reports said the U.S. has hit the extremist Islamic republic's 20 facilities in Syria's territory with the support of Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Bahrain and UAE armed forces.

The U.S. has earlier started a military campaign against the Islamic republic in the territory of Iraq. Terrorist group has announced its "Islamic caliphate" on the occupied territories in Iraq and Syria this summer.

The Islamic State, which calls itself the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, is an unrecognized and a Sunni jihadist group committing terror actions in Iraq and Syria. In its self-proclaimed status as a caliphate, it claims religious authority over all Muslims across the world and aspires to bring most of the Muslim-inhabited regions of the world under its political control.

A civil war has started in Syria since 2011 by attracting various groups including extremist warriors to fight against the incumbent government of Syria.
