Next group of Georgian servicemen leaves Afghanistan

Some 150 more Georgian servicemen returned home from Afghanistan.
The second Infantry Brigade of the 23rd Battalion has been serving in the "Leatherneck" military base in Helmand province for four months, the Georgian Defense Ministry said reported July 24.
Georgian First Deputy Defense Minister Irakli Gegechkori, Deputy Chief of General Staff of Armed Forces, Colonel Giorgi Kbiltsetshlashvili and other representatives of the Defense Ministry of the country met with the servicemen at the Alexeyevka military airfield (Tbilisi).
They congratulated the military on returning home and the successful implementation of the ISAF mission.
The coalition military bases are gradually closed and the number of troops in Afghanistan is reduced in connection with the completion of the ISAF international mission.
Georgia's national security forces will be responsible with security in Afghanistan until the end of 2014.
