Georgia expects 5 pct economic growth

Georgia's economic growth is expected to hit five percent in 2014, Finance Minister Nodar Khaduri told reporters.
"The revenues of Georgia's state budget from tax income totaled 786.6 million lari [$1=1.76 lari] in January-May, 2014, which is by 130.6 million lari more than in the same period of 2013," he said.
Khaduri added that the revenues of the country's state budget from the income tax amounted to 820.5 million lari during the reporting period, which is by 61 million lari more than in the same period of 2013.
He went on to add that over 1. 269 billion lari was received from the VAT, which is by 12.3 percent more than in January-May, 2013.
The economic growth in Georgia was 3.6 percent in 2013. The International Monetary Fund predicted five percent economic growth in Georgia in 2014.
