The Georgian government and International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission mulled the possibility of launching a new program in Georgia.
During a meeting at the Finance Ministry, the sides discussed the preparation of a new IMF program for Georgia, the ministry reported.
The Georgian side expressed hope for the successful launching of the program implementation, which would be a signal to other donors and investors to intensify activity in Georgia.
"IMF's support for the Georgian government's policy is important for us," Finance Minister Nodar Khaduri said.
The funds envisaged by the new program will be used for budgetary support and the reserves of the National Bank, he noted.
