Georgia, IMF mull reducing of fiscal deficit

Georgian Finance Minister Nodar Khaduri held bilateral meetings at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB) during his working visit to the U.S..

Khaduri met with the Deputy Managing Director of IMF, Zhu Min, director of IMF's Middle East and Central Asia Department, Masood Ahmed, and World Bank's Executive Director Frank Heemskerk, the finance ministry reported.

The projects on supporting the private sector are considered in the World Bank, in the International Finance Corporation (IFC). The main topic of discussions in the IMF was the further improvement of the macroeconomic policy, as well as reducing of the fiscal deficit.

"During the visit, it is also planned to hold meetings with the WB vice-president, representatives of the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency and J.P Morgan Investment," Khaduri said.

Khaduri will also take part at the annual meeting of the IMF and WB.
