Georgia ends first stage of military rehabilitation works

An overhaul of the military infrastructure was completed in the Second Infantry Brigade of the Georgian Armed Forces.

Defence Minister Irakli Alasania examined the work conducted at the Senaki base (Western Georgia), the Georgian Defence Ministry reported on January 9.

As a result of the first stage of fulfilled works in the Second Infantry Brigade 11 barracks and Staff building were fundamentally repaired, central heating system was rehabilitated and ventilation system was installed. Bedrooms, bathrooms, toilets, classrooms and halls were repaired in the barracks. Construction of two Ferro-concrete tanks will be completed in several days.

"Georgian military servicemen are serving in the modernized conditions at Senaki base. The government takes responsibility to change conditions for our brave soldiers who undergo compulsory or professional military service. I would like to promise each military that the task of the Georgian Government - to have worthy conditions to our soldiers - will be fulfilled," Alasania outlined.

Large-scale construction and rehabilitation activities of army facilities are underway throughout the Georgian territory.
