Presidential elections should show fundamental change in Georgia – Prime Minister
Georgian Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili said that presidential elections should clearly show a fundamental change in the country.
In his special appeal over the upcoming presidential elections, he said that his political team has the ambition and desire to convincingly win the contest.
"However there is an even more important ambition and desire to hold clean, free and fair elections that are worthy of a country striving for European integration," he said.
Ivanishvili expressed his confidence that the presidential election will be won by a worthy candidate, while those who do not win will be confident that even by a defeat in a fair fight, they have made their contribution towards the democratic development of the country.
"This will be our common victory and establishment of a democratic political order in the country," he said.
The presidential elections in Georgia are scheduled for October 27. The Central Election Commission already started implementation of measures provided by the law.
