IAEA and Iran expert talks on nuclear program due in autumn - source
Consultations of experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) with Iran will be held in autumn after the substitution of the negotiating teams, a diplomatic source close to the IAEA told ITAR-TASS news agency.
"On the Iran-IAEA track, the dialogue rests on the assignment of teams, but there will not be any sudden change in Iran's position," the source said.
According to expert's forecasts, 'consultations are unlikely to take place before the autumn'.
The U.S. and its Western allies suspect Iran of developing a
nuclear weapon - something that Iran denies.
Iran has on numerous occasions stated that it does not seek to
develop nuclear weapons, using nuclear energy for medical
researches instead.
Despite the rules enshrined in the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT)
entitling every member state, including Iran, to the right of
uranium enrichment, Tehran is now under four rounds of UN Security
Council sanctions for turning down West's calls to give up its
right of uranium enrichment.
