Georgian defense ministry's official dismissed after food poisoning of soldiers
An official of Georgian Defence Ministry responsible for catering of the military servicemen has been dismissed.
Personnel changes have also been made in the management of Georgian Food company. The company provides Armed Forces with food.
Defense Minister Irakli Alasania took this decision after several soldiers of the third infantry brigade got food poisoning. By now, 11 soldiers are undergoing a medical examination.
"11 soldiers are examined in order to found what they were poisoned by. Despite the fact that the poisoning was not widespread, I have decided to exempt from the work the official who was responsible for the food safety of our military servicemen. The structure and management of Georgian Food company was also completely changed," Alasania said.
A criminal case is filed on fact of the food poisoning in the Georgian Defense Ministry, the incident is under investigation.
